2017 Spring Programs

Looking to get to a higher level?

The goal of Lead the Way Seasonal Field Hockey Programs are to provide consistent training, improve participant’s skills, and provide a high level of coaching in a more competitive environment. Seasonal Programs are offered to athletes ranging from 1st-12th grade and will be offered in several locations. Seasonal programs practice one time per week and are held indoors or outdoors. Programs are 6-8 weeks in length and are a pipeline to LTW Select Teams. For more information on LTW Select Programs please go to LTW Select Programs tab General Information. The Next Tryouts for U19,U16,U14 and U12 Teams will be held on March 5 for the May-Dec Session.

Youth Programs

The goal of the youth program is to provide an opportunity to introduce field hockey in a fun and supportive environment. Programs are for the beginner to intermediate player and are offered seasonally throughout the year. The winter practice will be held indoors on astrograss. Each practice session will inlcude basic fundamental skills, small game play and fun competitions.

Location: Brown University, Providence, RI (Goldberger Astroturf Field)
Dates: April 24 May 1, 8, 15, 22 and June 5 (Mondays)
Time: 5:15-6:15 pm
Cost: $195 (6 weeks)
Requirements: (3rd-5th graders beginner to advanced players)

Middle School Programs

Lead the Way Middle School Field Hockey Programs offer consistent training and teach the fundamental skills of the game in a fun and competitive environment. Through repetition of fundamental skills girls build a strong field hockey foundation preparing them to play at the next level. Practice sessions will include 1v1 skills, passing and receiving and shooting. Each session will include coached scrimmages. Programs are offered to athletes ranging from 5th-8th grade, beginner to advanced players. Participants will be grouped according to their age, playing experience, and current skill level.  Beginner to Advanced Goalkeepers are encouraged to register and must provide their own equipment.

Requirements: 6-8th graders, beginner to advanced players welcome (5th graders with experience may register) (Goalkeepers welcome)


High School Programs

The goal of our Lead the Way High School Field Hockey Programs are to provide consistent training and to teach the fundamental and advanced skills of the game in a competitive environment. Through repetition of fundamental skills girls build a strong field hockey foundation preparing them to play at the next level. Practice sessions will include 1v1 skills, passing and receiving, hitting, reverse skills and shooting. Each session will include coached scrimmages. Programs are offered to athletes ranging from 9th-12th grade, beginner to elite players. Participants will be grouped according to their age, playing experience, and current skill level. This program is well-suited for players unable to commit to the LTW club program, but aspire to improve their skills. Beginner to Advanced Goalkeepers are encouraged to register and must provide their own equipment.
